The FBR

It is amazing to me just how many people show up to watch golf! I do believe that golf is one of the most boaring games in the world to watch. I rank watching golf one step above watching fishing and one step below bowling.

However, going to the FBR and seeing the mob of people enjoying 80 degree weather on January 31st is fun, for about an hour. Dont get me wrong, the golfers are amazing at what they do, I know it takes a lot of time and skill to do what they do, but to see the crowd cheer when they put a ball in a hole when it was only three feet away. I do not know why they cheer for that. Is it the fact they only did it in three shots, where as I would need 25 swings at it and several new balls?

The FBR draws thousands of people all week long and I think that 20% are golf enthusiasts. What are the other 80% you may ask? They are women, and men, that want to be seen. They are dressed in very little and have had many drinks in them. As we walk the paths, these "others" are carrying not one, but two bears, one in each hand. The others dont find this to be odd in the least, they dont see themselves as compulsive, or maybe a drunk, they see themselves as multi tasking. I am going to try this one day. I am going to carry two pepsi's and start drinking from both of them and see how many people think this is normal. Now it is fun watching the others, and that is one reason I like to go to the FBR, but let it be known, if I had to pay to get into this thing, I would NEVER GO!

Americas Next Top Model

Throughout my life my dad has said that I am wasting my height because I do not like sports and everyone around me has told me that I should be a model. At my work my boss and co-workers also tease me and tell me that I should sign up for the show "Americas Next Top Model" and show everyone how mean I can be. Haha trust me I do not think that I can be anywhere near as mean as any of those girls on that show. But everyone at my work says that I should be a model for something and they don't let up on that topic. Well little did they know that opportunity has come my way. Well sort of...

Lets start from the beginning shall we. I was at work one night and I get this call on my cell phone but I did not answer it right away because I am not supposed to have my phone out while I am at work. So when I went on break, I listened to a message that my friend left me earlier. She said that she had applied to do a fashion show for this company called Arizona Bridal and she would be modeling their prom dresses they have. On a side note, Arizona Bridal is a great company for LDS girls because they have tons of sleeved dresses and my friend told them that she would model the sleeved dresses for them. Well, she got accepted to model but she had some work to do before the show. Her main job was to find 10 other girls to model the dresses with her. So the message she left me on my phone was her asking me if I wanted to model with her. I was so flabbergasted when she had asked me to do this with her because I never thought that I would ever have the opportunity to model for anything. I really did not look into doing anything of that sort. So I called her back and told her that I would happily join her group. I was so excited and when I got home I told my family of the fun opportunity I will be having. So now I am going to be in a fashion show on March 5th. Wow I really can not believe this opportunity has come my way. Wish me luck and you will find me on the runway!!

OK, OK. I will update the blog now. Everyone is giving ME a hard time for not having an update on the blog even though there are 5 other people that can update this blog. Haha. Ok well My mom has been laid off her Exercise Physiologist job. She has been laid off for about a week and a half now. She has been so bored though so she has decided to take on a whole redecorating task in our front room and hallway. She went with a colonial style look. She was so afraid while she was doing this that she was not going to like it. This task took much more time then she thought it would take. It has taken about a week to get it finished. We actually finished today. It was a lot of work. Stapling the chair rail on the wall caulking the edges and then stapling the wooden frames on the wall then having to paint them all white and the baseboards white too. Then after painting all that she wanted to paint the hallway green. So we were so busy this whole week finishing up this huge project that was supposed to be small. Thank goodness she likes the finished results though. It turned out very nice and I love it!! Here are some pictures...

This is the hallway.

This is also in the hallway. I love how it turned out and so does my mom.
