Tessa's Blog: 4 miles...HA!!

So this weekend we all decided to go on a little, easy 4 mile hike. My dad had decided to do some geo-caching while we were hiking so he looked up some geo-caches that were along the trial of our hiking place which was on south mountain called Fat-mans Pass. He looked up about 5 caches so when we got the the trail these geo-caches made us hike off the trail and climb some massive boulders to the top of some parts of the mountain and then we had to climb back down then. This was not the easiest task to do. Especially because my dad wanted us to go so fast and I was having a hard time climbing the rocks at my own leasurley speed. So me and Amanda were in the back of the line laughing(more like she was laughing at my innability to climb over the rocks) the whole time we were hiking. We did find a cool little hut along the trail that Amanda and I took pictures by. The rest of the family were too interested in geo-caching so we stayed behind and had fun taking pictures of the hut by ourselves. Anyways, these caches were all over the place. Once we found one we were being told to climb over some more boulders to get to the next cache. We were constantly going up and down over and trough these boulders and were not on the trail more than 4 times. Since we were always hiking up and down these boudlers we hiked about 9 miles when we were supposed to only hike 4 miles if we stayed on the path. Oh well. We started our hike at about 3 p.m. that day and by the end of the hike we were back to our car at 7 p.m. The hike was so much fun especially since Amanda and I were having so much fun laughing about how bad of a hiker I was. I love hiking though. My family may wonder why I like hiking so much because of how bad I am at it but I really do like it. I had a great time this weekend and am happy I went with thte family on our little outing. Here are some pictures of the hike.
